SUPERSTITIONS...


  Superstition can be defined as a practice that is scientifically proven difficult and is considered illogical by human reason. However, if observed, we would see that there are logical reasons behind each belief. Superstition is still practiced by people in Malaysia at present and it is difficult to scientifically proven through scientific theory. In fact, this is a superstition or a form of advisory practices of the ancient generation that eventually turns into a frightening ban on future generations.
   Malay superstition are still practiced to date is as follows planting the placenta after the birth of the baby or the name of ‘Uri’ and other tissues, placenta is attached to the mother's womb and be connected to the baby through the umbilical cord. Malay community believed that the placenta is removed from the womb of the mother after birth should be planted. Normally, the placenta will be planted in front of the house.    

    Application talisman is another example of superstition Malay community. They believed that the use of amulets to prevent a dangerous infection diseases. Normally, this amulet worn by children under the age of 12 years. Charms are usually worn yellow and black are worn on the wrist or around the waist. Superstitions like this should be thrown away because it is one that believes in the practice of pleasing no power other than the power of the Almighty.

  Furthermore, Santau affected, odd, or man-made disease cannot be denied that black magic exists in the Malay community, but sometimes it has been fooling us in mind and sanity in the act. Among the acts alleged hit man-made is when a widow is married to the boy and also when a business is run down. This is essentially because destiny has determined for each man.

   Baby's cleft lip and palate was split in the Malay community trust, is between those who believe that a newborn lip and cleft palate was split because the husbands or wives who do taboos while wife is pregnant with a baby. Some examples of taboos is the husband to go fishing and fish hook stuck in its mouth, and this will take effect on her unborn child. In fact the brilliant, cleft lip or palate are caused by muscle was split lip or palate muscles are not attached at the right place when the fetus to grow.

     Among other beliefs of the Malay community is eating dried fish after childbirth trust old people in the control of food and water so tightly to the mothers after delivery. They believe that eating dried fish, regulatory bodies can do and an ideal body shape can be formed. When the mother is pregnant, they are prohibited to take foods containing soy sauce as there is concern that children born to dark skinned. Intake of soy was promoted to a child born with skin that is clean and white.                 

   Thus, as a society of Malaysia, we should adopt the customs and culture as long as not contrary to religion and their belief that future generations do not lose their identity as a Malaysian community in the future.
